the only time I could properly charge one capacitor by discharging another one was when I used thyristors. It can be done using mosfets but in my opinion the ON time must be increased not decreased allowing to totaly discharge the source capacitor. Using thyristors is simple because when using DC with  thyristor, will  stay locked until source power is completely gone.
Using thyristors is the closest to mechanical or spark gap, wich is the best, also thyristors are not that  easy to destroy, I have abused them a lot and few times after a major failure I was sure tha thyristor is gone but it was not.
This is only my opinion, maybe I am wrong...

Hi Romero,

When I wrote I am yet to get why thyristor is preferred here in series with coils for switching I mainly considered the ON resistance and its associated loss and switching speed.  But what you consider as advantage for capacitors to discharge them with thyristors is ok with me and agree, together with all the good features you find with them. 
The reason I did not consider the full discharge of the capacitors in this circuit is that it is easier to recharge a not fully discharged cap then an empty one, the load an empty cap imposes on a source is quasi a short circuit in the first moment of recharging.  Of course when I do not fully discharge a cap then I may be forced to raise the working voltage level to make up for a certain energy content in the caps.
So you are not at all wrong with your reasonings and findings.

Began working on Teets' circuit last night, hopefully finishing this evg or tomorrow, using Gyula's modded circuit here http://www.overunity.com/6763/energy-amplification/msg352377/#msg352377

4 turns on 2 primaries, multi-stranded steel wire 20 AWG
30 turns on 2 secondaries, 28 (?) AWG copper wire
Pulsing with 2 identical relays, wired backward to self-oscillate
On ferrite toroid

Not sure if steel multi-stranded wire is going to be a problem. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd be glad to hear it. I just got cheap... but I do have copper wire same size I can use.
