The explanation at the end of the films seems logical to me.

It does not run long enough for me. A lot of these devices use the initial start up energy and this slowly dissipates.
I would have liked to see it run for 10 minutes or more.

Damit die Lichtmaschine ihre Nenngeschwindigkeit erhalt, muss sie 2000 mal in der Minute drehen, - die Felge also 400 mal. 400 Umdrehungen/min mal 0,942 m = 376,8 m/min oder 6,28 m/s, umgerechnet also 22,6 km/h.Schon bei 400 Umdrehungen der Felge, also bei 22,6 km/h ist das Fahrzeug selbstversorgend mit elektrischer Energie, ein "Quasi" Perpetuum Mobile, welches nahezu unbegrenzte Entfernungen bewältigt, ohne Zuhilfenahme anderer Mittel als die Umdrehung der eigenen Felgen, denn schon die aus mechanischer Übersetzungsdrehung erzielte elektrische Energie ist grösser als der elektrische Verbrauch zum Beibehalten der Bewegung, was nun erläutert wird: Bei einer Umdrehungszahl der Lichtmaschine von 2000 Up/m ist die normale Leistung 120 V/100 A, entsprechend 12000 W.
