Can we pull electrons from the ground.

I see now why they use two grounding rods it makes the earth part of the circuit.
There will be more stress at the rod where the high voltage is entering the ground than on the battery ground.
In the end its all about electron flow, current is a product of electron flow.

When Q2 fires there's a high voltage discharge but there is also a massive pull of electrons from the neg side of the battery through L2, this is the buck converter.
By breaking the connection to the battery the electron pull is on the grounding rod instead of the battery, I dont think the diode on the grounding rod is needed since the electrons once pulled will not want to run to ground.
and current will follow the electron path which will oscillate between L2 and C3.
Also the ground at the battery will not pull electrons because they are repelled as well and if they do it will be minimal, interesting anyway.

I think zener diode with resistor can be used to dump excess energy, as replacement for spark gap in Kapanadze aquarium 2 device . If you noticed also in aquarium 1 video he said he used previously electronic make&break device but  it was damaged. It could be transistor but also it could be zener diode. The difficulty is to prevent runaway situation when voltage on capacitor rises too much and in positive feedback way. A regulator device preventing such capacitor failure would be a great tool.
I know that zenre diode with resistor was used in very old simple regulating DC power supply.

Well, it could be what Aking says, where the zener acts as a limiter to prevent runaway. But we still need a circuit/transformer that provides that condition.

It also could be as in Titos first circuit as a control to draw output back to the source. But still the transformer is a mystery.

Without that transformer, all of these ideas are good.  Im still trying to get a grip on what Reiku said about the configuration of the 2 windings. If the 2 windings are set up as field canceling, then how do we get output from a 3rd(or more) windings?

I did some fiddling on sim. in the first circuit that appears when the sim is loaded, I replaced the inductor with a transformer of equal ratio primary and secondary. Then I copied the circuit, then pasted. One circuit has the 2 transformer windings in series and the other the same but reversed polarity of the secondary to see any differences.  Surprisingly, they both show inductance and resonance with the cap. The one that should have had field cancelling seemed to have just less inductance with higher resonance freq. So I dont know if the sim is acting up or that is just the way things work.  I changed the 10ohm resistor to 4 ohm and the 100ohm res to a very low ohm.  Nothing spectacular, but the cancelling windings seemed to put out much more power to the 4ohm res.  Will have to replace the cancelling transformer with a smaller inductance to see if it acts the same.
