I've been wondering what would happen if I use a transformer with 4 coil and I pick one of the secondary to feed the bifiar connection of the primary through a diode.

Not sure, just have to test.

Hi Dave,
I use half bridges on my coil leads, that feed caps , You get bigger swings between potentials.
I use the difference between banks to do the work, It only takes a little from each bank that way, instead of draining the entire bank at once.
