Hi everyone

i have a question? can we not make a uranium battery ? 

we can and have... radioisotope thermoelectric generators (rtg's) have been around for quite some time. uranium wouldn't be the most popular choice though. plutonium-238 and strontium-90 hold sway at the moment. polonium-210 has amazing power density possibilities but that also creates some cooling issues.

my personal favorite is americium-241. easy (approximately 18mm of lead) to shield, and easy to obtain from most every smoke detector. albeit the power density is a quarter that of pu-238, you can (and i have) power a load with them. as far as i am concerned, from my perspective, it is as perpetual as i need being the half-life is 432 years...

Americuim came up more than once in our earth battery experiments topic.  There is no telling what we could do with some of that.
