I want Tito to comment, he knows it best, because he has a working device.
However IMHO I know how 'kick' is produced and how it is felt.
There is always a bell and hammer(or foot - it's the same). Yes, there is "ring" when you strike bell, this is not a kick but very close.
I will tell you how you can produce 'kick' let Tito confirm ....
Take a big bell of course handing freely, strike with foot then later hold bell very tight immediately. Wht you feel going through your body is 'kick'...
