The diode arrangement seem to indicate yes.
When you get to studying it, does the collapsing field pulse the gate, will it self oscillate, or does it need a square wave gen to gate.

the set up   12 v battery   in parallel  to the cap    the cap in the center or source  the other end in series with 24 v batteries  thru the vibrator or tuning fork as he described it in the 4 pole contact relay used in planes
in Titos circuit   he replaced the 12 v  with a 24v primary/ 220 v secondary   transformer.... using ordinary relay
cap diode to protect the contacts   and the relay itself  using the negative or one side of coil  connected to the nc contact    the other end of coil connected to other side of relay coil......    or just the no contact to a computer fan using reed switch or metal contacts to charge discharge  kick  and kick back
