Tito, what is amazing is how Tesla was able to compute and synchronize all those actions, and WITHOUT USING DIODES !!!! Tell me ,I'm lost :-(  Trying trying trying and burning parts    I wish I could have mechanical skills but even those are unreliable with big currents

Don't forget, Tesla also liked to use a large self inductance as a sort of diode. That's another thing that has more than one purpose in his designs and I think he sometimes disguised those as simple toroids or coils in his patents.

Buddy, have you read his patent about getting DC from AC.

Tesla already has what you are referring to as DIODES. On their time they can make the current into Direct Current or Alternating Current with the used of Condenser Combination. In short Tesla was using condenser as DIODES. The name of their Diodes that was Electrolytic Rectifier. You can find a lot of circuit of this combination on the Tesla Spring Notes.

The Tesla Motor function as Interrupter, Charging Inductor , sometimes he also make the rotation of Motor into a blower like the Ozone patent.  That is the proof of what kind of a genius the man we call Tesla.

Im not sure that Tesla used condensers as diodes. But Cadman is correct in certain uses.

Ive read where the cap was used to allow a certain amount of current to pass(series pass), just in case there is a short or similar issue later in the circuit. It was a way of limiting full current from the source in case of problems.

Large inductors, I see them like an isolation device for spikes or pulses to keep them in the circuit not allowing them back out to the source. But if the large inductor is kept spinning(flywheel), it would be hard to have a current reversal during continuous operation.

But I believe Tesla used timed switching for rectification more than anything. My Lasersaber EZ motor build, the rotor can be spun either direction and charge a cap + or - depending on the rotor direction. So the reed switching only allows one polarity out from the motor. Same as when it runs from a source, dc is only applied to the coils at the right time.

Toto, your build of Gyula's circuit, was it self sustaining or more out than in? The reason I said what I said was, I thought thst you did build that circuit, but you just said also you want to build Tito's circuit. Well wasnt that circuit Titos circuit?
