Dear Mags.

I felt compelled to compliment you on the build quality of your motor !!    It is a credit to you.

This was the first time I had seen your motor as I never got much encouragement from the tests I carried out with these types of devices. keeping a motor ( Window Coil ) running continuously for 3 months was ok !! The drive battery never went flat but that was about it !!  You can't heat a house from it !!

Ive seen what you are talking about. Are you saying that the motor wasnt capable of doing any appreciable work other than free running?

When I first had all my coils wound, I tested the motor with 1 coil, 2, then 3 and so on. 1 coil had good speed and torque. But much higher input to do so.

But here in my vid, the way I see it, we can see the motor has usable torque and reasonable speed, all with the power that is less than a typ blue led. I suppose we tend to think that leds dont use much running continuously.  Even 10 leds seems like a lot of light for the power consumed. But they seem like power hogs to me now,in a way. lol

So what if we had 10 of these motors stacked, 800mw. From what we see in the vid, do you think it could run those fan blades reasonably( the fan in the vid posted 2 pages ago by Aking) ?
That fan runs at 12w, and a 10 stack is .8w. I think it could be equal to better with the 10 stack from having this experience with this motor.

Lasersabers motor was 'running' at 1ua with say 3v. It has some torque, but ran slowly. So his motor, the way he ran it for demo at 1ua, can run for a very very long time. he used a germanium diode in series with his coils but it was reversed. The diode he used has a reverse leakage of 1 ua and was used as a current limiter.  He also ran it up to 100v, around there, by charging the cap by spinning the rotor up and generating current to the cap, and the motor sends current to the cap through the diode forward biased. So his motor has the ability to charge the cap from the motor faster than the motor uses current from the cap. Very neat ideas he has.

Laser uses a needle axle with ruby bearings like in a watch mech. I went with hobby shop bearings where I remove the grease thoroughly and worked in graphite. My bearings work really well, but lasers needle is better at reducing axle resistances. But Im thrilled with what Im working with. Lasers motor runs at below 1v, mine at just over 1v or more to run. he is also running larger dia mags, I think 1/2in x 1/8, mine are 3/8in x 3/16. Im making another rotor with the larger mags. It will run better. If they were 1/8 x 1/16, it would be less better.
