It is a very neat example of the thought. But where does the energy come from to reset the blocks? Does it take more to set them all back up again?

Its a bit tricky. Each block is 'set up' as stored energy because we had to set them that way to begin with. And then how they are set is in basically a balanced position where just a little push can set it off balance.

I dont think its a good model of what the quote actually is interpreted as electrically.  But then again, is a snowball rolling 'down hill' any better? How did the water/snow get on the top of the hill? Or even on the hillside to eventually be gathered by the initial snow ball 'set and release'?

So it is probably just a simplified example, not actually the 'way' it is done electrically. I think.
