Your opening line is where the triode part comes from...maybe....  ( a careful consideration followed by a careful comparison.) 


Consider the vacuum tube is a valve used to control "electrical current", and the Vacuum Triode is/was a valve used to control "magnetic current", a switch for magnetic circuits.  Noteworthy, with the prior, the supply is extraterrestrial, whereas with the latter, the source is included...  Hope this inspires....

Hi Mags,

The vacuum triode amplifier is a terrible choice for a name for that device.  Like you, when I first heard the name I thought of a triode vacuum tube or as they call it across the ocean a valve.  That is not what it is at all.  There are some videos on Youtube that show Tom Beardon and Floyd Sweet working with the device.  It supposedly draws energy from the "vacuum".  If I recall correctly all those coils are wound on a special type of magnet.  Then some of the coils have to be powered in a certain way to do something to rearrange the magnetic domains of that magnet.  Then the circuit is connected like the drawing and supposedly you have a working device.  I so far have not found anyone that has been able to get one to work.  As far as the triode part goes I don't know where that comes from.  Maybe the way they count the coils.  I hope this helps a little.

Would it surprise you were I to suggest that the two documents I brought to the attention of the group are "prerequisites" to a more advanced discussion which would include concepts related to what is being suggested by Floyd Sweet?

Going over the pat, did before and the phase delay of the longer cores, made of steel,etc. is what I remember most.
Not sure yet. Is it the shorter core windings get affected by the armature field more, in turn affecting the long core windings electrically? Sorry for the dizzy answer thus far.

Been up all night working. Tired. Still have more work to do. Ill get back at this as I think on it.
