I see.... Two coils of high inductance periodically connected in series  to a third coil of high inductance ( Armature ) then also in series with a low inductance transformer primary finally in series with a capacitor.

Now the Armature is " dynamic " is this the " Loose " third coil that Tesla refers to ?

Or am I " barking up the wrong tree " ?

Here is my interpretation of Tesla's patent #568,177 as shown with an LtSpice IV simulation. 

Basically, the motor's stator inductance 'D' supplies energy to maintain resonance of the series inductor 'M' and capacitor 'L' via the circuit-controller 'H'.  Realistically, the stator also has an amount of self capacitance due to the adjacent windings which is the transfer medium for the energy exchange. 

In order to make the sim, many assumptions have been made which may or may not be accurate to the mechanical arrangement of the patent.  The point is to demonstrate how the device may possibly operate as Tesla intended.

In the sim, L1 is the stator inductance with C3 being the self capacitance.  Yes it should be connected in parallel but I chose to show as seen for simplicity and the operation is only slightly affected.  L2 is 'M' and C2 is 'L'.  M1 is 'H', L3 is 'N' and C2 is 'P'.

The frequency of 'M' is 83.33kHz with an 83.3% duty cycle.  IOW, the motor 'C' is disconnected for 16.6% of the time.  The high voltage resonance frequency is 2x or 166.66kHz from the values I chose to use.

The plot waveforms show the complete operation after stabilization is reached along with plot math measurements.  One might note that the current in L1 is constant indicating that the device basically operates similar to a current fed inverter with an amount of energy taken from L1 (stator) to maintain resonance in the L2/C1 tank circuit which in turn supplies the current necessary to maintain resonance in the high voltage tank L3/C2.
