Electromechanical Inverter

I have tried that many times with a relay. As long as you are pulsing slow, no problem as an inverter. I don't know if it will work up to 60 hz because that relay will stop hitting the other pole simply due to physical lack of time to react so quickly. Unless you have something else up your sleeve.

Supplying a large amount of current to the relay coil will help it switch faster, but there are physical limits.
