Almost anything will work as an oscillator.  I got some EL84's somewhere they were as common as 2n3055's back in the day.   Nothing new here though. Tesla did this stuff 100 years ago. 10 watts is enough to light 100 watts lamps maybe a lot more as standing wave HF HV oscillator tuned to perfect VSWR of infinity!

I used a Kapagen in a similar fashion to light 18 x 100 watt light bulbs with HV HF using 178Watts input.

I've always wondered if Kapanadze Green Box is doing a similar thing.
Is he really lighting the bulbs with 50hz 220V or HV HF??
