Again i still have some questions on your original reply that you said the emissions could be tracked also behind a thin aluminium sheet (foil). If the sheet is large enough and grounded, then i see it as least likely to be rf rather beta or gamma radiation. Of course i am not specialist, but i see the case to be so.

Please give a try placing the geiger probe behind with the thin aluminium foil (grounded). Actually the whole setup shoud be better enclosed with it. If the geiger counter persists then you are onto something really interesting

  That test is worth a try, but we know that an aluminum sheet or foil is a great reflector of RF and pulsed HF and HV.   Or not?  The grounding may cause an even stronger reading in the G-counter, instead.  Anyway, good to test it to see what happens.
