I agree Igor does some interesting experiments. I only wish to do half as great producing them.

Slider has some good exciter stuff to look into.

The crystalline battery is still my favorite thing to think about. The work I did was priceless to my own eyes. I never knew we could draw on the simple division of two dissimilar metals with having zero effect on those metals. Well my studies were of the graphite aluminum variety but I hear that copper magnesium is the best for higher current devices. The process I used was to heat up the aluminum to 250-300 degrees and spray a borax solution on the heated metal. This caused a white foam effect which I re-baked till it turned golden brown. The aluminum was of a rather thick wire used in art. I had fashioned the wire into a coil then proceeded to do the treatment of the wire. I then inserted the coil inside a glass jar and proceeded to heat up more borax plus epsoms salt. I also mixed water in the jar as it heated up. I was trying for the supersaturated crystal effect. It failed. but what I got was a super shiny aluminum coil that seemed to be better in the solution then out of it. Inside the solution it stayed shiny, even as crystals formed over a very long time. All the while I got usable current to run led's 24/7. It seemed the more I used the cell the stronger it got and the more crystals it grew. But the more crystal growth was just the function over time of the solution.

My galvanic cell project was meant to be used for powering oscillator circuits, like the Joule Ringer crt, etz...  And I still have several of these cells still working, after several years time.  They do eventually build up a protective layer on their own, which helps to slow down further break down,  if the materials used are thick enough, some cells can last for years, others dissolve into dust.
I mainly used carbon instead of copper to make most of my cells, as it doesn't  break down like copper does, and carbon can be reused if cleaned and heated in an oven. Also carbon provides for a slightly higher output, over copper.
Although Mg gives the highest cell output, it also breaks down quickly.
These cells and oscillators projects shown in my older videos are what got me started.
Now, the Mazilli circuits, along with ferrite yoke core(s), which can output lower voltage, but much higher amps, are what I'm interested in.  Safe, Non Shocking energy, that will light up incandescent and other types of bulbs,  and eventually, will hopefully self run, as well.
  It's all fun...

hi everyone,

I have attached photos containing 3 fake HV 100ns  10KV,25KV,40KV diodes that can't support frequency higher than 100HZ.Verified using signal generator.
These diodes are all purchased from ebay Please avoid these diodes at all cost.
I had my suspicion on the diodes in the past until i built a Don Smith device i have confirmed these diodes are not designed to operate at high frequency.
I have waste over 100USD on these diodes.Imagine 1 40KV diode cost around 22USD

Hi Grumage,

I have some success with Don smith device late yesterday night which i am able to light 5watt and 60watt 220volt bulb at around 110volts from the Don smith secondary coil.
Tuning the Don smith device was a real pain but once the 5 turn primary winding is positioned nicely in the pvc pipe and the duty cycle can be made very low 10% ...18% at 55KHZ and consume around 2Amps from 12volt battery.

I'm able to see trumpet waveform which increase in amplitude.

Primary coil  5 turns of 8AWG copper, 3uH <0.2 Ohms is connected in parallel with 0.3uf caps.My plan was to get around 205KZ

Using somewhat similar setup as the China Don Smith replication device which was using a B&W coil 2414 or 2404 in "CW direction" for both winding.
For some strange reason i'm able to get power only from one secondary coil.Trying to place primary coil exactly in the center don't produce high voltage output.

The primary coil\0.3uf caps  is powered by 600volt mosfet.First using 12volt battery as supply and improved light output by using a 10amp step up boost converter to convert 12volt battery to around 60volts under load 2amp at around 10% duty cycle.
Tuning caps used 0.1uf 4000v x 2 in series. For the time being i'm using <30ns 600volt diode for the Don smith device.

----------------------------------------------
I have just destroyed 2 of my PWM signal generator in 24 hours is a cheapskate sig generator UDB1000 (Shorted Gate and Drain at mosfet killed the output stage)and another SG3525AN PWM IC (Connected to 60volt supply from boost converter and killed it.Max supported voltage is mere 35volt).

I can't show any demo of my Don Smith for time being without any functioning sig generator.

In the meantime i will need to get 50pcs of <30ns 600volt DIODE to form HV diode so that i'm able to connect to NST 10KV,30mA.

These diodes will also be used for Kacher tesla coil experiment as well.

---------------------------------------------
The replication of my Don smith device is considered a success since i am already able to light 60watt bulb at 12v or  60volts supply, once i get resonance.
5uf caps in parallel with bulb.

Do take note Don smith device was suppose to be powered by high voltage around 1KV onwards..
The advantage in powering don smith device at high voltage is the duty cycle can be kept low 10% <20% and the amp draw from battery can be reduced.

I may create a another set of Don smith secondary winding which would be CW&CCW instead of CW only.

Many congrats to all of you for taking off this topic! Personally thanks to Stupify012 for pushing to this interesting direction, and of course to jbignes5  dllabarre stivep magpwr  NickZ and all of you for this priceless contribution to this matter.

Magpwr we are in a parallel mode trying to extract the energy from Don Smith's circuit. I'd like to ask you few things.

1. Do u use one or two separate grounds?
2. In your current setup with both secondary coils cw and cw, where do you join your secondary capacitor? Between the ends of your secondary coils or between one end and the middle ground?

My primary is running at 200Vp-p at 52MHz but i still don't get over my input. i miss something but i feel i am very close. In the same time i have a problem with my variable air capacitor. In resonance it boils the oil where is inside. Can you upload a very brief schematic of your parts and connections? No need details. Just secondary connections. When i ll be back at home i will show you mine. You are very right about the difficulty in tuning. But when it does, my tuning caps are hot like hell, and as i told you the oil is boiling... thanks

Thanks

Ps. My primary's mosfet power supply is 50V by rectifying and stepping down 220V AC without smoothing capacitor. This gives me a nice 50V Dc peaks at 100Hz. The final output signal from the mosfet are some bursts every 100Hz, containing this VHF 50Mhz signal. This can help you at the final secondary stage to have a clean 100Hz sinus wave after passing through an iron core mot.

Hi,magpwr
congratulation on your success. btw,is there any capacitor that is parallel with the secondary coil? How is the load connected to the secondary coil?
it would be great if u show us your schematic.

thanks

hi Jeg and steadyfield,

I just got back home it's 11:30pm Mon over here.

1. Do u use one or two separate grounds?
Answer:No grounding used base on my first successful experiment.

2. In your current setup with both secondary coils cw and cw, where do you join your secondary capacitor? Between the ends of your secondary coils or between one end and the middle ground?
Answer:For now i'm trying to replicate the experiment shown in pjkbook march 2014 edition page 260.Base on China don smith replication experiment it is just cw only. Please refer to my attached photo.
I'm sorry i had not drawn any schematic yet since i have not done any video recording yet for upload into youtube.

From the + and - as per attached photo it is connected to 5uf 900volt caps in parallel with 60watt and 5 watt bulb(merely to smoothen output voltage and increase brightness). This is connected to probe x 10 setting  for safety reason to oscilloscope so that i am able to see maximum voltage achieved. It's impossible to tell merely by looking at bulb once it's it is well lit.

Please do not believe whatever cap value written on cap.I used L/C meter to verify cap and 5 turn coil uh reading.
Base on my capacitor value 0.21uf 275AC Induction caps for some reason had 50KHZ written on it which i did not pay attention before and during experiment and my 5 turn primary coil 8AWG 3uH

The cap is connected in parallel with 5 turns primary since my objective is to run it in 205KHZ as per online LC calculator.
But strangely i'm able to get peak secondary coil output way below 200KHZ which is at 55KHZ.

As we know LC parallel connection in resonance is where the impedance would be increased.
I'm now suspecting the cap after the experiment since it had 50khz written on it.The induction cap had 0.3uf written on it but with 0.21uf value.

I'm aware household induction heater runs around 23khz...40khz.

I have not done any research yet on why there is 50KHZ written on induction cap which is purchased from ebay.

Yes i did apply 1/4 wave rule.I have posted my Quarterwave excel file previously and mentioned how to use it.Just change the values in yellow.I hate repeating once more.
I have attach this file for the last time.

I do have plans to create another secondary coil with similar winding count in cw & ccw.

One end of pri coil/cap in parallel config is connected to positive supply +12v or +60v and another end to drain of mosfet.Mosfet source to (-) supply and gate to sig generator.

One more thing i left out in resonance there will be a double helix waveform.

I feel i need to use proper cap not induction cap in parallel with pri winding to run at lower current around 200khz since current my pri coil setup is not optimized yet at 55khz and currently consume around 2Amp from 12volt battery which was connected to 10Amp supported boost converter output around 60volt.(This was not intended for don smith device.Voltage should be in KV for primary or at least around 400volts DC for my next plan base on 1200volt IGBT instead of 600volt mosfet )
