I think you have the above wrong, the copper coil with the spark gap would be a broadband transmitter and antenna setup. The slitted aluminum tube is present. The wiring then would be using the
multi-turn coil as the magnetizing field source or the resonant coil/cap combo with some ferrite inside for amplification. That would match your NMR battery concept would it not?

Obviously the vacuum energy which creates that sparking should be converted to something more useful.

Put a step down trafo between spark and ground, parallel cap in the primary side. After spark has occurred trafo rings at its resonant frequency and you get sinewave output from secondary. Higher the drive frequency of the spark, more output power.
