All the device is inside, not in the garden. Nevertheless the noise would be surely reduced if the measurement is done in front of the variac, and after adding an HF filter (I have several). I will try.

I'm not sure to understand your method. For me, it can measure only peak voltages and currents, neither rms nor power.
And even if we measured rms, we can't do the product of rms values to get the power, because the product of rms values is not equal to the rms value of the product (for ex. when U and I are 100% out of phase, U and I are not null even when converted to DC, nonetheless the power is zero).

This then would also be easier to convert it back via an inverter to the AC input power
to loop the device in a selfrunning mode.

It is the ideal case. But we need to get much more output than input to compensate the losses of the conversions AC/DC DC/AC.
This has to be confirmed, but I "feel" that the output power is of same order as the input power.

Still the same problem: the mesuring device is not intended to measure a no sinusoidal current with high frequencies components. With only a few watts from my HF transceiver I can greatly disturb any of such devices and let them display whatsoever.

Simple solution....

Moving coil/iron ammeter and volt meter in primary.

or run the thing from a small petrol generator. Connect a load up to the point where the breaker trips, then short it out.  Now connect the Kapgen and run it and see if the generator stalls or grunts. 

Say you have a 3kw generator running a known 3Kw load,  and you can hang an additional 10*150W halogens on its ass without it complaining,  then it's a fair bet that the apparent 200W demand is true. 

A generator does not get confused by RF.  It's just seeing a demand for physical energy - joules!
