Somewhere in this Rocky IV debate there was a link to a story about a family getting electrocuted. This story was used to prove a point that some people are just dumb.

It's a shame that the story/link was removed because I thought it was the quintessential point between Western and Eastern countries.

When a family member is in grave danger and the events so shocking the last thing running through our minds is 'Step voltage'. Our only mission, regardless if our fate is death, is to help our family at all cost. 

This difference can best be seen in our military. British, French, German, Polish & Russians typically leave there dead on the battlefield. They know very well that going back for there bodies means more casualties and risking the mission.

Americans on the other hand will fight Tooth & Nail, risking our own lives and the mission outcome to bring our fallen Brothers & Sisters back home to there families and not let them rot on the battlefield. This is why they say 'Nobody gets left behind'.

I am damn sure that you would not be thinking about Step Voltage if a member of your family was getting electrocuted.

BTW - On another note. You can't believe everything you read on a Wiki site. For someone to stake a claim on inventing Air Conditioning is as preposterous as staking a claim on inventing Ice. Both are natural process found in nature.

If we are going to play 'Who's first' then in that case the credit to discovering the natural process of Conditioning Air goes to the Egyptians.

Ramset, glass has been known to be a dielectric for over 150 years. What exactly is the point? I am not surprised so many people are amazed by the MIT video. These same people believe that 'Refrigerant' gets 'used up' in an air-conditioner .... like oil to an engine.
