@Oscar: The high current has to suddenly appear somewhere in the circuit that`s for sure.
If that really happens in the spark gap or not must be experimentally found out by you, because it is the basis of your whole argument.

It is certainly not what Kapanadze is doing with his VISIBLE transformer though because the primary of his transformer has way thinner wire compared to the secondary and your argument necessitates an opposite wire gauge relationship. ~ 2kV are being transformed to 220 V in his transformer.
Who knows though what is in his ominous green box except a big cap? Maybe he does it like Oscar describes.

The patent furthermore describes :

And at the third part, due to the high magnetic field received from the first bobbin, there occurs a difference between the bobbins and this difference occured between the second bobbin and the first bobbin and is increased by the current amplifier at this part

Russian documents simply attribute the spark gap to creating the high frequency of current.
Since this usually operates at a chaotic frequency, it needs to be pulsed with a component that creates clean pulses at a given frequency.

Concerning the current the patent furthermore describes :

The present invention is related with an economic energy transfer which primes the constant electric energy received from any power supply via transferring the electromagnetic field  occured at one of the bobbins to the other bobbin rhythmically stabilizing the field between the bobbins with the help of amplifier immobilizes the energy voltage in both bobbins increasing the current with respect to the input current.

What does he mean with "immobilize the voltage" ? (Can be a translation inaccuracy).
Immobilizing idicates an inhibition of movement. The movement of the ampiltude?
I will check the russian original of the patent to maybe find alternative translations for "immobilize"

and let´s not forget the important statement :

... converts the independent energy  -received by the second bobbin from the air- to electric energy. 

I believe this refers to the radiant energy entering the coil through the bloch wall while the field is collapsing.

Is there any publications or experiments with current measurements that have concrete data to support what Oscar is talking about concering the spark gap current ampilfication ? It sure sound interesting and hopefully Oscar will experiment with it.

Hi Groundloop,
if you got sparks without the charge capacitor, you will
even get better sparks WITH the charge capacitor.

It is much easier to get sparks from High Voltage DC than from HV AC !

If Kapanadze coil had no core, than it's resonant freq is too high, 1 - 20 MHz.
(wintesla... etc. Tesla coil simulation programm)

I have already tried to use two R2000 diodes in series and a small cap
before the spark gap. The oscillator is NOT powerful enough to charge
up the cap so that the spark gap frequency will be high enough to get
the coil to go into resonance. For this small air core coil the resonant
frequency is in the MHz range. The spark gap maximal frequency with
this little oscillator (with a diode and cap) is just some few Hz. We
need at least 1/4 of the coil frequency to get the coil resonating.

I will return with better equipment after my vacation. I have built a diode
and capacitor based HV generator that I can use on my next Tesla coil.
I also have a couple of 8Kv Neon transformers that can be used. But they
scare the crap out of me.
