but we here have FIXED cap and cap after diode here ITSELF determines frequency and resonance...

Just by cap variations we could see whats going on ...

Romerauk: try different cap values id you can , and try to get scope image of waveform... I still think it would be mostly sine .. like tesla primary .. after all we here discharge C into L over spark gap , dont we ?

IMHO you should make exact copy of first working device before applying any changes and test if you can replicate effect on copy.
