The modulation thought process nothing so new been discussed now a long time. It holds water!  As HT is alike RF carrier of energy potential requires modulation to produce an output. There is no need for iron or ferrite cores nor is resonance the same as we commonly led to believe.  The resonance here is one of electrostatic to create scaler operation to prevent drive current actually moving. But there are thousands of volts and dozens of amps in circulation. The o/p is more like volumetric electron pump rather than a conventional transformer as its not even like in any kind of conventional resonance within electrical engineering nor RF.

Nanosecond signals are incompatible with the coil circuit. May be there are some very high frequencies in the electrical arc spectrum but the high inductance of the following circuits (relative to these frequencies: nano = around 1 Ghz) prevent them to flow.

Forget the patent that was a very early block schematic. In his translations and videos he clearly states 50Hz o/p and as i said he ran large induction motors from it. Also it would prove rather expensive to have an HF or DC o/p and then have to buy a 10kw inverter from ebay:)

It can be clearly concluded from the patent WO2008103130 that there is HF in the 2 coils:
"Creating a magnetic field around itself with the high frequency regularly received
from the first filter".
HF is confirmed in Kapanadze's video by the low number of turns of the coils, which is incompatible with 50hz. The coils coupling can work only with HF.
Producing HF with a spark gap is easy and not expensive. If HF is 50Hz modulated, then a simple non linear and also not expensive component (diode or saturated ferrite...) is enough to provide 50hz by rectifying the high frequency.
