An observation, based on memory?

#3 circuit looks like a *Tesla hairpin circuit* with one exception:
The caps are located between the full wave bridge and the spark gap, instead of the spark gap and the coil.

Are the sparks bigger and louder?  More power may not be consumed, but the output should be greater than the other circuits.  Modified hairpin circuit?

Okay, instead of turning 180* that said component, I just bit modified the pcb and the
positioning is the same. The board is preferred for making homemade practical pcb via
toner style production & FeCl solution, anyone can do. PDF scale setting should be at
"None" during printing to achieve perfect scale.

By "electrical movement" he means "voltage pressure" or voltage induced in the secondary: this together with the large "elevated capacity" and the possibility to *accumulate* this energy without radiating it electromagnetically but "pumping" it through the earth made it possible to resonate the charges using the earth as "conductor" to reach the loads. That's why it was called "magnifying" transmitter:
   "These adjustments and relations being carefully completed and other constructive features indicated rigorously observed, the electrical movement produced in the secondary system by the inductive action of the primary A will be enormously magnified...".

I was thinking in the footsteps of Prentice for looking a potential explanation for this thread, that an open field study should be performed.

In a small scale, (like Naudin's Kapagen circuit that involved an above and ground part of 20m - 10 aerial, 10 ground return of more perhaps 20, 30 or 50 m) to arrange a Prentice like apparatus (without the pick up stage at first for simplicity) and "scan" the earth in the hope of tuning the open system to a subtle and responsive earth current that it will "assimilate" to circuit.

In the first sight, such a project looks prohibitive because of its expense. It would require a significant power of the system, (not 10 or so watt) so as the effects to be striking. One should possess a HV source of considerable power, at least 100w i would say, coils and the knowloedge how to tune such a variable system that detunes even when air is blowing!

My suggestion: Use the Kacher Setup

In photo 1 i present the much Known Kacher that it is handled as an toy for the resonance / hf research.
this can be scaled up. Replace Prentice's antique Tesla like HF transformer with contemporary Kacher setup. The benefits of Kacher is that it never detunes, it keeps resonance in any way, but constantly adjusts and re-adjusts to new frequencies as system's parameters change.

The tunning tool here should be a HV adjustable capacitor in the Pico farad range i guess, put between coil and capacitor or in a place of low static voltage i would suggest. For the construction of such a capacitor several sites are there to look.

As you understand, exact numbers cannot be given as the values of L1, or L2 or Variable Caps.
It would be interesting to see also, what's the real function of the Spark-gap in the earth antenna. Prentice says, this goes there so as to stop the formation of stationary waves on the antenna (nodes and antinodes). I have not a clue. (Anyway , in this SG expect a feeble or at best a streamer, resembling Kapanadze's 100Kw streamers or even his green's small box.)

So, with a minimum amount of money, and much persistance and joy for experimentation, some of us can assemble such a setup and to proceed scanning the earth starting from say 10-20Khz and going upwards at different power levels as well. In the point where anyone would notice anything should stay (in that frequency etc) investigate and report.

Variables of the system, apart from Kacher etc could be:
Frequency (primary intent)
Antenna length (the longer the better per Prentice)
Antenna Height from Ground
Antenna's orientation
etc etc

A word of warning
....
This project is for skilled experimenters, possessing at least a basic understanding and experience in how HF transformers/oscillators work and require basic electric/electronic skills.

ps: Prentice used his receiving antenna electrostatically coupled to "transmiting" as power collector. I have done the same with my Kacher. By putting a sheet of copper around it, even though the bottom was grounded.
The big difference is that in my Kacher setup, there IS a formation of "static" voltage as the top of the coil goes to a node whereas the bottom is an antinode.
How Prentice achieved the same effect if nodes are eliminated?
Can the SG make a uniform HV across the whole antenna?

This patent is referring to a capacitive coupling in near field between two circuits. "Near field" means that the wave length corresponding to the oscillation frequency is of same order or longer than the dimensions of the devices and than their relative distance. This field is essentially the electric field, the coil being just a mean for obtaining a high voltage in the upper capacity of the transmitter.

The principle of an electric coupling between terminals of distant capacitors is the same as a magnetic coupling between spaced coils of a transformer: the transmitter and the receiver lie in the same field, periodically expanding and collapsing from the source. The electric field causes displacement currents (it is very different from a traveling electromagnetic wave which carries energy autonomously). Here the receiver is a synchronous receiver acting as a diode, i.e electrical energy is switched to the receiver at a particular time relative to the period of the signal, in order to get the same polarity.

I consider Tesla as a genius inventor but with his longitudinal wave that he believed to be at work here, he missed the point and was wrong against Maxwell. There is no longitudinal wave, such system as in the patent is completely conventional, no OU can be expected, and even, it is useless for transmitting big powers at a distance because of a not perfect coupling and of the losses in the surrounding.  It is obviously not related to Kapanadze's device (LC circuits, earth connections, and possibly sparks common to both are not enough).
