Kapanadze clear box device proved that output is converted back from very large floating VAR in system. This is very simple proof. He loaded system with first bank of bulbs then with second one and during each moment there was no diminuition of light power of bulbs hanging amont trees. He then spoked about this effect very clearly explainig that when such situation of applying large load to power station working in idle would happen there would be large problem with balancing power surge. Separating the load from the input is very important indeed. Wesley's group is doing a good job with this problem. Keep in mind that driving a resistive load can be deceiving. Tesla stated you can light a 100 watt bulb with 100 volts at 1 amp or 1000 volts at .1 amp. We are still talking about a 100 watt input but there is a big difference that most tend to overlook. Using ohms law to find losses ( Amps^2 x resistance = watts ) you find there is a huge difference in efficiency. Also, for the same reason, we bring power to our homes at very high voltage and low amperage then convert it at the source of usage.

The biggest problem with lighting bulbs is the high frequency high voltage, the voltage doesn't care about the resistor and flows over it easier than through it. Slowing it down enough to flow through the resistance is the biggest problem of lighting a bulb. So if your working with only a 1% loss and slow it down just enough that a small portion flows through the resistive element you can get light very efficiently.

I don't believe the bulbs are inefficient or are resistive loads in general but when used in a closed circuit you only allow one path for it to take. I call them "single pass" circuits - once in once out and it neutralizes the energy. Single wire open circuits allows forward and back usage and can be stored for re use - recycled energy as it were....

So your thinking is correct just think of why they work better and why you can light more with less.
