The effect shown in this video at 5:49 is very unconventional !

Normally, any current flowing in non-superconducting shorted coil decays in milliseconds, yet here the coil exerts its influence for 3 seconds after the lift !  Too bad that the experimenter did not wait longer than that.

So the shorted coil delays the separation for only 5 sec.  That's still a long time in "RL Land", but 5sec. is much more conventional than "forever".

Now, remember, I have to be quick since the field isn't there very long to begin with. (since it is draining away as you saw in the last test)

The author does not seem to realize that the current in the shorted coil is a reaction to change and most of it starts flowing when he picks up the cores - not before that. 
He might as well have only one winding (the "primary") that he shorts AFTER pulsing it with the external power supply.

After lift up, the current waveform in the shorted winding must be fascinating.  I expect it to be some kind of Barkhausen noise - not DC.

very interesting, BUT would be more interesting if that guy will measure input and output, how much the gain (COP)
