You forgot to mention that most child abductions happen when marriage breaks and the parent who hasn't custody "abducts" his/her own child... So nothing strange to cry about.

I did some research into child abductions a few years back.

The numbers were staggering...the lions share were actually stranger abductions - and the children never found.

Those figures have not so strangely vanished from the net.
