One thing I did notice about the Hendershot device and a transformer created by Tesla is the similar way that Paraffin wax is used.  Tesla shows in an article, how to make a transformer made of pancake coils wrapped in paper and sealed and cooked paraffin wax to eliminated all air and foreign influences.  Hendershot made a capacitor inside the  weaved coils that was layered alum. with paper that was sealed in paraffin wax.  Now Karl Palsness made many Tesla replications and in this video below he shows some of his work.  The video is part 8, but watch them all or at least 7, 8 and 9.  The pancake coil is layered with paper and sealed in Wax that is also put under vacuum when its made and pressure when it cools.
This coil, he says is Self-Resonant and self adjusts to keep resonance.  He also says that it has a DC field when fed with AC and Visa Versa...
