   Has anyone replicated this idea?   
  I believe that this proves that the extra power is coming from the surrounding ambient. Just like any other generator which is assisted by an outside source to turn the magnets around the coils. Only this only needs a spin to kick start it up, like with the PC fan devices.

Maybe but from the photos you posted, the lamp filaments look very under powered, so given the fluctuating output, the average power consumption may well be within the NST capability, especially if its being overloaded. See photos of a 60W lamp taken at 20W consumption. From the last photo you posted, I would estimate by comparison that the Chinese lamps are consuming around 15W each as most of the lamp filaments can be clearly seen. This could suggest that either the NST was delivering more than the 60W stated, or that there was more out than in! Also bear in mind that there is much fluctuation in the brightness, so the average power consumption in the lamps could be even less.
