I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.

NOTE:
Even of these are mostly tower-mountable systems, they can be installed on shorter poles for less effort and expense.

#7,098,861
Similar to the one immediately below:

#2,750,589
Similar to the ones above and below:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=WUhSAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=patent:2750589&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#2,380,333
This one has arc-shaped extensions added to it as a transmitter aerial for directed studio-to-transmitter linked applications:

#2,324,462
Similar to the one immediately above:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=XIN6AAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4#v=onepage&q=&f=false

NOTE
These others will be more general in design that the first four, but will still concern pole mounted systems in for the most part:

Fig. 2 is a Caduceus coil:
NOTE: Caduceus coils can reduce battery charge times significantly if they're carefully built.

#5,065,164
Vertical system with loading coils:

#4,114,161
Fig. 8 is similar to #2,985,878

http://www.google.com/patents?id=sII8AAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#2,985,878
Alternating counterwound sections of a pole mounted aerial(fig. 4):

#2,945,227
This system can also be mounted vertically:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=a4hOAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=patent:2945227&as_drrb_ap=q&as_minm_ap=0&as_miny_ap=&as_maxm_ap=0&as_maxy_ap=&as_drrb_is=q&as_minm_is=0&as_miny_is=&as_maxm_is=0&as_maxy_is=&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#1,708,515
This one has a coil inductor in the middle of a horizontal mounted arrangement(can be vertical0:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=NUxLAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=patent:1708515&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#2,941,207
This is important.  I asserted elsewhere in Overunity that this inventive arrangement can simulate a much longer aerial, whether vertically or horizontally mounted:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=tYdyAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=patent:2941207&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#1,967,881
Pole system with loading coils:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=3_tSAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=patent:1967881&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#1,676,240
Fig. 7 is a muliplex arrangement as a transmitter:

http://www.google.com/patents?id=u4V5AAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=patent:1676240&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false

#1,314,095
Similar to #1,967,881 but with tuned coils.  Fig. 2 has a spark gap---the first I've ever seen on a transmitting system:

Hi Lee.

I think broad band Bow Tie Antenna are very efficient if arrayed and directed. from 3cm on up to 1 meter band.

Hi Jerry,
Yes, I see.  These types of antennae are sometimes used to direct signals from remote TV reporter's trucks to the main transmitting station, I think.
