BTW, the US patent office search engine works great & its free:

Not to be critical, but did you see this before you applied for your patent?

#5,767,612
#2,282,292
If your idea was no improvement over Prior Art, you wouldn't have been issued the patent.
I just point out a similarity in design features.  And I applied for a patent myself once.

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.

Figs. 6 & 9 are most useful to the subject of this OU Internet site.

#4,157,518
This amounts to a counted-wound style Caduceus coil.

#3,980,975
Most Internet sources would call this a Mobius coil.

#3,731,238
Figs. 5 & 6 Are something to see.  Multi-conductor toroid.

#3,090,016
Fig. 4 is a modified version of #3,980,975.

#2,925,565
Another Mobius application with disconnected coils.

#2,244,756
The "energy source" could be powered by the coax lines in Fig. 1, vertically or horizontally mounted.

NOTE:
Occasionally, a patent number I give on this thread has a patent type different later than what the thread was about when I saw it earlier.  Please keep in mind other Members are having problems accessing the database which can act with data-entry difficulty at times.

Thanks for the info Lee, but the 2,282,292 patent expired long ago and was never renewed. And, the other patent is for something totally different...it's a pressure generated voltage from a salt crystal:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezoelectricity

from the claims portion- "The present invention relates to a uni-morph, bi-morph or other type of piezoelectric and/or electrostrictive film element which generates or detects displacement or force in the form of bending, deflection or flexure"...

Patents are worthless these days anyway. One would need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for a patent around the world. Its no guarantee someone wouldn't copy the invention & try to get away with it. Especially in China. I think its just a big money making game for the lawyers.

Yeah, I agree, especially about the Chinese Gov't.
The Chinese people are all right.  (I live in San Francisco, so I should have some experience in this.)

The Chinese Gov't is similar to other communistic regimes, so I agree.  They'll probably try and seal it from you if they can.  The patent may also be classified by the CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, and who knows who else?

As for lawyers, Nathan Portnoy Associates handled my application.

sparks

I like this idea.   If we can get a piezo element sensitive enough it could be grown on an inductor that undergoes magnetostriction.  We then tune the system to be resonant at near infrared and convert heat into juice.  Water in the ocean out front of this spot I'm at is a solid 80degrees.  Won't cool down for many a year.
