When is this asteriod supposed to hit us?If it misses the earth we should hitch a ride at least with some instruments on it.If it hits the earth then we all are sitting ducks.triffid

Yeah, I read a long time ago that a lot! of energy was available with 'H'---Robert Heinlein use it as a plot point in a novel as rocket fuel.

Too, much energy, though.  It'll detonate if it recombines to H2---especially if pure.  Scientists cool it and dilute it with Helium(He) to stabilize it.

Oh, that reminds me, there's a flood around the Fort Calhoun Nuclear plant and it's headed your way down the Missouri River.  A warm spell can cause the river to reach 1,014' altitude at Ft. Calhoun.  Then the plant is like Fukushima.

Unfortunately, more rain adds to the threat---even in your state.  I suspect the water table is slowly rising under your house.  Too bad you have to live there.  I have to live in a pest-infested dump-of-a-slum/ghetto.  Fun.  Survival is a daily adventure.

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.
