Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

...Lee My house in st.Louis has about a 30 difference between basement and first story.Hence the interest in temperature wheels.
That's why I asked about how far your house was from the Mississippi or Missouri Rivers.
I saw once on the news crawl line at the bottom of a TV screen that forecasters predict more levees will fail this summer in Missouri and parts to the North of there.
Your basement is pretty deep for comfort, IMHO.

Also, the financial debt torture continues here in this country and in Europe.   Look: If they raise the debt ceiling and/or borrow more money and cut services and spending in either hemisphere, people suffer.  Quickly.
If they don't raise the ceiling, people and markets loose confidence in the system and the average economy goes into another recession in a month or two.

There's no good answer at this stage.

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.

According to the ron paul hotline I gave earlier in this thread the central banks are starting to buy more gold and silver.Investors are starting to buy more gold and silver.I have heard this tired song since the 1970s about how everyone should buy more gold and silver.I would rather have bars of soap(which last a long time) or smokes (I don't smoke) to barter with when everyone is trying to sell their gold and silver.Cuz then the price will be real cheap while soap and smokes will bring a higher price if they are hard to get.I prefer to find gold and silver in the ground.triffid

In response to triffid's posted Reply #1295:

People hoarded gold until the Great Depression, but you're correct, a bar of gold like one in the movie "Kelly's Heros" can't be eaten, even with salt, pepper and ketchup.

I think people are waking up to the grim fact the non-existence of extensive amounts of money is going to end a past easy lifestyle in the industrialized world.  Survivalists in really remote areas should do better if they avoid "city folks."

Soap, canned goods, guns/ammo, medicine, seeds/fertilizer, etc., will be worthwhile to have.  I believe many mambers should be aware of this already.

.Tuna is ok but its a much smaller amount. If I can find mackeral for about a dollar a can I buy it.Canned fruit is better than no fruit.Canned food will last 30 to 35  years easy.Cranberry sauce will last only a year. Its acid will eat through the can.Been there done thatI have eaten canned goods that were 5 years old with no ill effects.Glass jars of fruit that were canned properly will last  years or longer. In 1994 my mom still had a couple of jars of homemade plums that she canned about 1957.They were still good after 37 years. So home canning is a good thing.triffid
