Iraq had wmd in gulf war 1(biological weapons).If they had used those, which they did not, we would have used nukes on them.So we knew in 1998 that they had 25 missile warheads carrying more than 11,000 lbs of biological agents,including deadly botulism poison and  anthrax germs.If these agents had been used the results would have been as catastrophic as the dropping of atomic bombs in WW2.

There was an old rumor that Iraq or some other country in the region has nuclear technology and uranium they were working on to make a bomb, but in order to deflect attention from the fact, they spread that materi'el and knowhow to other countries elsewhere; now they working     waaayyy!     underground in really deep secrecy to continue research.
       An very unpleasant surprise may be waiting for the West in the future because of it.

I used to focus only on nuclear weapons but now realize the biological weapons are just as bad and about 10 times cheaper to make.From the same book and page I quoted above.Just 220 pounds of anthrax spores released from an airplane could kill as many as three million people.So no one is really safe here.triffid
