This recession will not go away.Too many jobs have left our shores.The middle class is not earning enough money to buy products that the companies are still making.70% of the us economy was the spending the public did.So the us economy will continue to freefall and the median incomes of the middleclass will continue to fall and fall and fall.I see no hope of a recovery anymore.This country now belongs to the bankers.This century and the last one belongs to them.I did get good news on S.S.In dec,2010 it was doing ok,better than I thought.triffid

I got a new book today on offshore banking"Treasure Islands" by Nicholas Shaxson I wish I had a scanner.Its a real eyeopener.Capital no longer seeks higher returns on investment It seeks safety,secrecy,tax evasion and avoidance.triffid

The island of manhatten and the island of London are main offshore havens for the very rich to park their money.There are more havens(60) around the world but London is where most of the damage was done to the American economy.In Britain no banker ever goes to jail!Its almost that way here in the usa.When bankers can create the crisis, get bailed out by the american taxpayers,never go to jail,receive big fat bonuses on top of it.Then something is very, very wrong with the system.I recommend the book as a good read but you will be shocked at what you will learn.You will learn just how helpless you are.The USA is in a downward race to being a third world country.Better look to China as a world leader.They are building up their country whereas ours is aging ,roads and bridges being closed down or falling apart.We will live I guess but we are slowly(I hope its slow) falling into a lower standard of living.triffid

When all the wealthy want to do is make money,avoid all taxes and regulations and maintain total secrecy.
The middle class is left to foot all the bills for society,for the roads and schools.They are thumbing up their noses at the rest of us.Two out of three american corporations no longer pay any taxes on income,In fact sometimes they get rebates in the millions of dollars.Over half of the world trade is routed through tax havens.The rampant practices that precipitated the latest financial crisis can be traced back to Wallstreets offshore finanical practices.Tell your kids to become bankers.They might be able to eat at least.triffid
