Fastest way to collapse magnetic field?

What is the fastest way to collapse or compress a electro/magnetic field "non-destructively"? I'm trying to find a way to duplicate this patent but without the destruction:

With a 10^-5 second discharge:
"... As seen in the above example, a significant amount of power (approximately 1.9MW) may be recovered ..."

With a 10^-7 second discharge:
"... a peak power of up to 100MW is possible ..."

The idea would be to make 10-20(to avoid core saturation/heat issues) of these to run continuously in sequential order and collect the energy out. It seems like anything that generates high power requires a extremely fast moving or collapsing magnetic field.
