Wow, if that jelly-blob was found to extend the life-span of human beings then...it's TOAST!

I don't think eating it will do anything, but maybe scientist studying the genetics.

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
