I've been interested in magnet motors for quite a while now. Not ones you need to have another power source for, but ones that run on their own without outside influence. I think this can be archived by using permanent magnets alone. For this to happen, we have to think outside the box and forget about physics. Now before you guys go jumping down my neck, and quoting this one and that one about, what can and, can not be done, remember everything seemed impossible till somebody went and did it. Flying was for the birds till two guys proved us wrong. The laws of physics say bumble bees shouldn't be able to fly!!!! Weight to wing size ratio, says's not possible, but guess what,,,, nobody told the bumble bee this, so they fly around  unaware they're breaking a few laws of physics. I think magnet motors are the same. When somebody makes one that works, then someone else will make up some new laws of physics to explain it!!! Don't worry about the bumble bee, he doesn't need anybody to tell him why he can fly, he just does!!

The problem is that magnets are always accompanied by two
friends waiting to do your free energy in. One is lenz law and
the loss that is accompanied by eddy currents in conductive
materials. The other is Maxwell theorem that causes magnets
going in looped pathes to produce losses due to the emission
of EMF wave energy into free space. Therefore the initial
playing field is not level. So it pays to get to know the friends.

The other problem is the lack of a true magnetic shielding
material (other than that produced by expensive low temperature
superconductivity). To a great extent, Magnetic flux lines simply
divert around shields.

I'm sure glad we have high quality electrical insulators or we would
be in the same state in electronic circuits that we are magnetic
ones.

I hope you have some more to add to your good introduction I fully agree with.

If you think on permanent magnet only motors, then you surely exlude using any coils, electromagnets, this reduces to nil Lenz law and if you use ceramic magnets then eddy current is also avoided but in case of other magnet types that are used in repel mode, eddy current also said to be at a minimum (repel flux lines do not penetrate into the other magnet's body so there is said to be no flux moving inside the metal body in repel case.)

Now that two main culprits seem to be 'tackled' I wonder what other outside the box ideas you may have found to achieve your goals. Maybe you can give some hints.

Ok we've all played with magnets as kids. Did we ever really spend to much time trying figure out how they worked???,,,No!! Magnetic power of force has been around since the planet was formed, and as we know, or are told all planets have magnentic fields. This invisable force is original power, the only true power that we know of. Now all you guys who study physics will be laughing your guts out by now, but what the hell. Forget about coils and and resistors and all the other things that work with electricity, or are needed to make electricity work and think about a power that has two sides and the only thing they want is to get away from each other!!! There in lies the secret to building a magnetic motor. Get yourselves some magnets and play like a small kid and try to forget about all that you have learned and start from the begining. Think, Bowman motor!!!! That's not to far off the mark of a true magnetic motor. Have fun and let me know how you get on. If you have a PHD or some such other degree, put it in the wardrobe and forget about it,,,,,it wont do you any good if you're trying to build a magnet motor. Didn't you know us that are, are only crackpots....
