this is a flawed argument. shame on sagan for ever even voicing it.

science doesn't require extraordinary evidence UNLESS it is an unpopular claim. in case of point, the big bang theory. arguably the most extraordinary claim ever!  'first there was nothing, then it exploded'. where is the extraordinary evidence for this?
