Title: Can someone please give their input: Squirlgen
Post by: onyxblack on November 16, 2010, 02:54:09 PM
I know the laws of physics but.... I can't think of a reason why this `wont` work other then the law...

First watch this video before looking at what I'm thinking of...
http://energybat.com/video/MAGENT%20VIDEO%20NO.%208.wmv

Now take a look at this quick image i drew up...
http://playonplugins.com/onyx/squirlgen.jpg

Can anyone debunk this? or can think of a reason why it wont work?
Using the weight of the magnet to turn the cage, as the magnet keeps trying to craw up the side it keeps turning... ofc i would think heavier magnets in physical weight and adding some type of grip to them, to prevent slippage, would increase torque..

Would anyone be willing in trying this out/putting it together if they have the parts?

Let me know what you think, or if anyone has ever thought of this / invented this / debunked this...

Funny But when you first look at you're Drawing ,
It seems like "why not" that should work!!

Its a gate /shield, polarity flip, thing !
Its a problem!!
You'll go nuts trying to understand why it stops!

Someday .........................

Chet
PS
you're vid link went nowhere!!

Don't really understand you,
why would this work ( http://energybat.com/video/MAGENT%20VIDEO%20NO.%208.wmv )
in stead of a straight line have it go in a circle and create a track for the 'squirl magnet' inside of it - the offset of gravity should cause the cage to turn and the squirl to continue

You're wheel is balanced ,there is no gravity in play.

you're magnet has to go thru a gate!

Do you know what "the Gate" is??

Chet
Ps you're link still goes nowhere??

the link didn't work for me either so I just downloaded the wmv file and played it.

very impressive but it's hard to see how it's being done.

The WMV is just something i stumbled upon and used that as a basis for what i drew, the wmv didn't work for me in firefox - had to use IE and play it in vlc

the magnet would "stick" at a certain spot along the track

look up SMOT ramps, the re-entry point always gets stuck at a specific spot, which would stop your wheel

looking at this vid -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5mYm5nO5Fw

What if someone where to put a plastic squirl wheel in the middle of the 2 tracks and just stick the magnet in that?
