Here is an interesting item I just found on German Ebay,
it is a press with which you can press old newspaper to
get paper briquets which have a pretty high burning BTU
heat value !
You need old newspaper, put them into water and press
it into briquets with thsi press. Very nice indeed, if you still
use normaly expensive coal heating !

Funny to see this ;D
Yep this works very well HartiBerlin but there are some drawbacks I have to warn you about.
First; it takes a long time before the "paper logs" are dry (some 2 months in my case).
Second; it gives a lot of ashes, more so then wood.
A good thing is the longer burning, and of course it is for free ;D

Dear de Lanca,
Is it maybe possible for you to make clickable links?
Correct. Making briquettes from waste like old newspages, waste wood chips, crop straw is kind of new and overwhelming technology to save traditional energy bill. As the technology requirement for manufacturing is not that high, you may purchase briquette machines (http://www.biofuelmachines.com/Hydraulic-Briquetting.html) like this from China with relatively low investment and the good thing is the quality is not bad.
