That was a very interesting article.... When they get that one scaled up to commercial output somebody is going to make a big pocket full of cash!

If the ocean is deep enough where water is needed the pressure differential between the fresh water column and sea water will provide the needed pressure for a reverse osmosis filter. Sea water wighs more so the pressure is more. Reverse osmosis membranes are pressure driven.
