Some one in Malaysia...

Hi, Ash.
I'm not in Malaysia, but I once retrieved my money in alike situation, using my PayPal account; PayPal has tools to do so, just go to your account and read the rules patiently, then start your action/complaint. That way, it worked for me. I hope, it will work for you too.
Let peace be with you.

Hi quert and ALL

Thank you for posting that, sorry for all the fuss, i was really pissed yesterday and should of cooled off before posting. Thanks for the feedback, here are the finer details of the scam please warn your friends and family.

if you place an add for item for sale A number is texted to your phone about your add, it is this one +60176652807 (shows up on the net as http://www.bridgat.com/index.php?page=list&uid=19320 )

it states it is interested in your add and to email Sandra Baggins @ gmail.com for info. You get this email:

Hi , thanks for your response...i am really interested in buying this I would have loved to come and see it in person but i am not in town at this time,i am in Malaysia on special assignment but i would be buying this for my daughter in Malaysia, but before we proceed, do you accept paypal?...because i only make payment via paypal....its the safest means of making payment as it protect both buyers and sellers interest.so if you accept paypal kindly get back to me as soon as possible..Thanks and God bless.

Then it asks for your pay pal email for payment,  you are asked to send the item priority too post to Malaysia and payment is pending on pay pal , your are then asked to provide  the tracking number to "unlock the pay pal payment". A after giving the tracking number, the pay pal payment is still pending, Sandra baggins (sandrabaggins@gmail.com) is not a valid pay pal account, and a phony pay pal email is sent to you stating your funds are being processed, the item is collected and the scam is complete.

You get this email

From: "service@pay pal.com "
Attn: = your pay pal address

The PayPal Payment Team received the tracking number sent to us details with FedEx (898428533971). We are now processing your funds but, due to the high number of transactions in which PayPal handles daily, we will like you to give us maximum of 48hours, to credit your account with the money paid in by Sandra Baggins (sandrabaggins@gmail.com).

NOTE : This measure is taken for online security check. This is not a procedure to inconvenient any party, both the seller/buyer have maximum right of protection and PayPal will be hold responsible for any shortcoming from both parties. our payment team is happy to inform you that your funds will be fully processed and credited into your account on or before Wednesday, December 21, 2011 (12:37: 56 PM PDT) and you shall receive the confirmation immediately. You are encouraged to complete this transaction. Here at PayPal, you can be assured that your security and safety is our topmost concern.

End

I would of really liked to check that address out, this guy probably has scammed a few people now.Thank you again for all that, sorry about the post guys , was really pissed yesterday.

Sorry to hear that Ash.  I would love to see one of these little hacker-criminal-scammers get the $*#t beat out of them and see it in the news.  They all think they will never get caught but it's going to happen sometime and that'll slow all that crap down.  Just don't get yourself in trouble though as it's not worth it if you end up having to deal with the law on something like that.
Sure I don't need to tell Ash this now but the valid deals always follow certain protocols and anything out of the ordinary is not to be trusted in the wild wild west of the Internet.
Try to relax Ash and have a happy holidays then do what you can with these POS.

Thank you very much man, i  sincerely appreciate the reply and advice, it really did help me "move on"  and forget the ###hole, after all, who really needs gifts and stuff for the holidays, its the time to reflect and spend with each other that really counts. I guess i was as silly to worry about it as i was to get scammed eh? Thanks again man, your right no one should go to that address, i have warned pay pal and as many as i could . Maybe a few will report that address to the Malaysian police. I think its time after a hard long year to relax finally and hope that every one enjoys the time together.

Hi Ash

Sadly this is a common scam. it relies on people not checking their emails properly and following links in emails and not actually going to paypal to check the arrival of funds before sending the item.

You cant take it to paypals security team because the money never went to paypal. they never sent you an email and had nothing to do with it.

Sadly there is little you can do. as for law enforcement it is a waste of time local cops say its a federal thing and the feds don't deal in anything less than a major scam (millions) there is no-one to fill the middle ground.

Perhaps there may be debt collection agencies in malaysia that will take on the job for a fee (usually 20-50%) you would need to provide plenty of proof.

You know its probably not a bad idea for a business seeking out and bringing small time crims to justice in different countries.

Ash,
Don't feel alone I too just got caught by the so called Sandra Baggins, same deal as yours i advertised to watches both valued at $500 each this was the email I recieved
"Hi , thanks for your response...i am really interested in buying this watch.I would have loved to come and see it in person but i am not in town at this time,i am in Malaysia on special assignment but i would be buying this for my husband here in Malaysia, but before we proceed, do you accept paypal?...because i only make payment via paypal....its the safest means of making payment as it protect both buyers and sellers interest.so if you accept paypal kindly get back to me as soon as possible..Thanks and God bless."

Does that sound familiar, I wish I had read your blog or contacted paypal before I posted them. this [person is still operating in Malaysia but gave me a different postal address than the one they gave you.

I would love to get hold of this lowlife in person and teach them a few facts of life,

Hi Pessa and ALL

after reading all the help, you guys really made me feel better and i wont forget that.Yes my friend thats EXACTLY it, i sincerley feel for you Bro, pay pal is useless , he is still there i see, makes me want to take up offers to go check that place out, i bet he has scammed many people, if i was there Bro i would go check him out and get your stuff, and maybe whip his ass too.

i got told not to contact the the owner of the Condo, AS HE COULD BE IN ON THE SCAM.
HOWEVER, here are the details Aaron found for me (thanks man) .
Maybe he lives there or near by

this fucker is still taking items from people and pay pal never fix their system,
The address of that Condo is managed by this guy
Try this: Daniel 0122809381 or laiping 0172000187

Those are phone numbers to real estate agents that deal with those condos
and may be talked into verifiying who is in that unit.

Aaron found that on this site: http://www.iproperty.com.my/propertylisting/822388/Taman_Connaught_Condominium_ForSale

Angkasa Condominiums, Cheras, RM 298,000 No.5 Jalan Puncak Gading, Taman Connaught, 56000, Kuala Lumpur

Hello my friend it is the same address! he is there, you know what i would do, some one needs to set him up via the international couriour, maybe report to Fedex that this address is being used for fraud, or go there and watch for him to pivck up items, then...... :)

might have to just report it

Hello to ALL

I am sorry to hear this my friend, guess the only benefit of people find it in search and coming here is they can learn about alternative caner cures and over unity research  :P
Perhaps we make a website to ask for victims and then pool resources to catch the guy through authorities?
