Title: Alternator to PMA modification/HAWT/VAWT: What are your stator/rotor specs?
Post by: ND52 on May 25, 2012, 04:13:25 PM
Hello everyone, I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to share your stator specs.

1. What was the output & wind speeds (give or take) when tested?
2. How many turns did each coil receive or length of wire?
3. What gauge wire did you use?
4. How many coils/magnets were used?
5. What was your coil and magnet dimensions?
6. How strong were your magnets?

Any other info you care to share with the community.

For those in the planning stages this information will be crucial in an attempt to build the proper unit. Thanks everyone for sharing this needed information.  ;)

First round of specs I found was from a You Tube video from Aceman307

1. What was the output & wind speeds (give or take) when tested?
8 volts with 10 MPH winds

2. How many turns did each coil receive or length of wire?
About 70 turns with 30 feet of wire

3. What gauge wire did you use?
18 GA

4. How many coils/magnets were used?
12 magnets 9 coils

5. What was your coil and magnet dimensions?
He said stator diameter was 9 inches, magnets were 1.5 inches X .5 inches

6. How strong were your magnets?
N42

His gen was a VAWT and vidoes can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNMe4pThWns&feature=channel&list=UL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNMe4pThWns&feature=channel&list=UL)
