There is one disease that is devastating to your basil plants. It is called fusarium wilt of basil and arrived in North American some time in the 1990's. The symptoms are sudden wilting, dropping of the basil leaves and stems with dark streaks. As soon as you notice these symptoms quickly dig up the basil plant, the soil around it and the roots and discard it so not to infect your other basil plants.

This thread is of such value that it amazes me that Stefan will even permit
any others.
I now feel mentally and spiritually complete.
Agreed. I am totally enlightened now.
But, wait a minute... Where I should discard the infected plants AND soil to avoid disintegration of North America??? Answer, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest to make this topic sticky, so no one misses the opportunity to save his basil plants.
Too late for me. My Basil plant is no more.
Yet Another thread title that does not deliver what it promises.
I want to know: How can I use my Basil Leaves? Pesto just doesn't thrill me all that much.

They should be taken in suppository form. I heard a rumour that Jawad321
is very clear about that.
I already tried that with some other herbs. All I got was a royal pain.
Parsley, sage, and... er....... never mind.
