Hello all,
2 weeks ago i have built my first electrolyser and i installed in my 1992 Chryser Newyorker. The first road test i did was exacly 20 miles. The first 10 miles whitout connecting it to the battery and 24 miles per gallons and the other 10 miles connected 33 miles per gallon. I found out that it is a good results for my first rig and could be improved.
The main problem is that the electrolyser is getting really hot after let say 15 minutes of driving. It is pulling 10 to 12 amps.
Anybody with good advises on resolving that hot electrolysis solution is welcome!!
Thanks Joe
Hi Joe,
what kind of electrolyzer are you using ?
one with many Stainless steel plates or one with Stainless
steel meshes, like Walter Hofmann ? What electrolyte are you using ?
Also KOH or just tap water ?
What voltage are you using ?
Pure 12 Volts DC ?
How big is your electrolyzer, how much water do you have in it ?
These are the parameters we have to know, so that we can give you some help.
Where do you put the hydroxy gas into ?
Do you mix it with inside the carburator with the gasoline-air mix ?
Hi Stefan,
I am using "Hotsabi's cell" which you can find the plans on "Waterpowercar.com"
3" ABS tube, 7" tall - 316 gauge perforated shimstock, thickness .005 -
-Electrolyte= Baking soda, one tablespoon for about 700 militters of distilled water
-Pure 12 volts
- 1/8 clear tube from electrolyser to bubbler and to air breeder.
Stefan, I can't use the attachement so i am sending you the Hotsabi's plans via your email so you can post it on this site if you want.
Thanks for the help
Regards, Joe
