So many times I log into the various forums and see a few members and a ton of guests. How do we get the guests and newcomers to participate? I was a lurker for a long time until something caught my eye and I had to be a member to get it, only then did I sign up. After a few (several) ignorant posts, and many failed builds, I finally feel confident enough to participate on some of the topics. If not for the kindness of some of the experienced users, I would have given up long ago.
Taking a hint from some of the more experienced users, I built a web site to show off some of my favorite projects, hoping that others might see them and want to try and build them as well. I just started this a few days ago and have more stuff to add. Most of the stuff I show was inspired by users of these forums. There are many free web hosting sites on the internet and several have excellent web building tools – WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). I am not endorsing any particular host for this project.
Many of you have your own sites and/or youtube accounts and I would very much like to see us cross link as much as possible. Any users here that would like their site or youtube account linked, please let me know. This can make your information more visible in search engines and might inspire others to join in. Many times, really cool builds get buried in the threads and can be hard to find. I have not signed up for advertising clicks nor am I trying to sell anything, but I have no problem with those that do. Experimenting and building can get expensive and if this helps keep you in the game, more power to you.
