Title: 30 cents per watt solar comming soon
Post by: markdansie on July 17, 2013, 12:30:18 PM

Last week IA thought 40 centst a watt was cool.

Please pay attention to differ between producton costs from wafer and modules and their retail price(s) !

Here the market trend to 2017 http://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/solar-pv-module-costs-to-fall-to-36-cents-per-watt (http://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/solar-pv-module-costs-to-fall-to-36-cents-per-watt)

Do you remember ?  Mems-TAR

25cents/Wp : 600Wp/sqm related !
?  cent(s)/Wp  concentrated and water-cooled  :o 10Wp/sqcm 8)  price calculation?                             10W/sqcm= 100000W/sqm = 100KW/sqm

10 cents per wattpeak solar :
                                          <15-20$/qm
with GW production capacity in China and 10-11%eff.

Mr.Yaters converter produced by Mr. Marks 250000US$(1986 price) 3D beam writer and similar sqm-production price like LEPCON :
this is the virtual reality !

Less than 1 cent(Euro or US) per Wp : production costs !

3D beam writer factory :         DVD-printer solution like : http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/ucla-researchers-develop-new-technique-243553.aspx (http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/ucla-researchers-develop-new-technique-243553.aspx) ?

the 1986 250000$ are today max. 1/10th the production price, comparing with the PC-/video recorder/CD-/DVD price-evolution during the last 30 years !

P.s.II: one question for the "real" superminder here,Ex-D.D.R.-Tech :

goto page 3: the 2 last sentences !
How is this possible ?! Only 4°Celsius less=80W per sqm collector conversion

Not so sure on Joseph C. Yater
never amounted to anything, thanks for the info was good reading
Kind regards

Something near the 99% Carnot-efficiency but "only" with 92% :
http://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/description?CC=WO&NR=03072909A1&KC=A1&FT=D&ND=4&date=20030904&DB=EPODOC&locale=en_EP (http://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/description?CC=WO&NR=03072909A1&KC=A1&FT=D&ND=4&date=20030904&DB=EPODOC&locale=en_EP)
it is the MEMS-TAR (0,92 x 0,63 =thermal to electricity conversion efficiency max.)
Special attention, description page 10: "dwell period ,energy swing amplification"

Probably Mr.Yaters daughter Jane Yater can do the breaktrough of her fathers tech invention.

Sincerely

"30 cents per watt solar coming soon"
It's been coming soon for decades.  ;D   Let me know when you can actually buy some.

By the time we can buy cheap solar cells, the sunlight will cost to much.  Did you realize, Spain's government now owns the sun?  I wonder how they will tax all those poor plants and trees over there..

Freezer :
no,the spanish government does neither own the hispanic sunlight nor
the sun !

The political administration did many faults, they thought that the GDP-credit blowed-
would be their real national richdom, simulating Germanies industrial growth rate !

There had been some financial analysts which estimated that in the near future Spain will econominally surpass Germany !
How spoked the Terminator : Hasta la vista,Babe ! ::) :o ;D

You should know that we live worldwide  in a GOLDMAN SACHS regime ,
in each important national government their embassador
( with G.S. Vice-President-title ) spinning the worldwide financial web

and in future the international "sun electricity highway"
like Desertec-but greater !
And Spain will be an important partner for this plan:
"cool" sunlight from Africa to Central Europe
Later: orbital (geo-stationary)solar-stations and great terrestrical receiver.

This all has to be financed, you know : tax pay role !

But you are right, ideas with 10cents/Wp and less are old .

In future after the development from Reprap-like technologies we will be able to realize faster idea-to-materialization potentials
probably in a wi-fi manner with the reverse function of the neurophone
reverse: not to receive but to emit to the 4DPrinter

But actually we are mass production industry dependant - cell production related.

Would you post some places selling at these prices?    Thanks

Presumably the 30 cents per watt calculation assumes that no storage batteries are used and therefore it is not a stand alone system i.e. you have to be connected to the grid. Low cost solar is likely becoming a thorn in the side for power companies. It will be interesting to see how they react to increased solar panel usage. Will they punish consumers financially for producing their own energy as a consequence of loss of revenue? Will they limit 'solar assisted' customers forcing those with solar to go off the grid and therefore make solar unaffordable due to battery costs?

@e2matrix,
I had those prices quoted by a good friend of mine who buys container loads for solar projects all the time. There is a massive glut of them att he moment.
However you are most likely going to pay three times that or more in small quantities.

With grid connected systems yo udi not need batteries and you are actually using theg rid as yoru storage by reversing the meter in teh day time.

@NTelsa
In Australia over a million homes successfully connected to the grid, they have a population of only 22 million. In some cases the utility companies have to purchase the surplus back at a premium. Many of my friends get a check in the mail, while others just reverse their meters.
In The USA Utility companies are trying to impose penalties to grid connected solar homes, I guess its about philosophy and government legislation.
I agree with your sentiment about better to get of. Hopefully EOS and other battery vendors will provide affordable solutions.
Food for thought
Mark
