Title: Has anyone tried the "Soukup V-gate" magnet arrangement
Post by: carlprad on September 12, 2013, 11:35:00 AM
Hi

has anyone tried out the Soukup V-GATE magnet arrangement scheme shown in the attached image?

If so, did it have any advantages over the normal V-gate that does not include the extra magnets?

Thanks

yes I and many others have tried, and all the variations. It does not work in that it can not be looped or produce a contineous process
Kind Regards

Mark

Thank you so much for the information.

Do you think however, that it is possible to mechanically overcome the "sticky spot"?

For example, by using a very low friction mechanism that moves the stator out of the way, right at the "sticky point"?

Thanks in advance

Carlos

yes and yo uwill find hear many experimenters in different threads did the same. Bill Mehes did a lot of work on this and if you look at devices like the Torbay you will see mechanical solutions. None work. It is unfortunate that no one has ever come up with a self running self sustaining device.
