Hi All,
This is great news if proved to be viable. Youtube user everybodyseye was using a wall wart to power his pulse motor. He discovered his power bills greatly reduced. Maybe the high voltage spikes make their way back through the coils of the wall wart transformer and slow down the watt meter at the power panel? He wants others to verify their findings and find best combo for ease of operation. video here:

Wish I had a pulse motor to try.
Merry Christmas everybody

Scope on AC mains shows increased sine wave ?
Calling on TK for expert analysis!

Face palm. Oscilloscope abuse.
"Keeps throwing the voltage over"... well, shouldn't the AC line read something like 170 volts peak? I can't tell anything from the scope trace except that the trigger is.. as usual.. improperly set to display a stable waveform. It's possible that the ground reference lead for that probe isn't making good contact in the terminal strip, but I can't really tell.
At 1:20 the tachometer is indicating 1160 RPM. Right? "Which gives about... let's see... a little less than 120 Hertz." Not by my calculator it doesn't. "1200 would be, ah, 120 Hertz." Ah... no. 1200 RPM divided by 60 seconds per minute gives 20 Hz, at one pulse per revolution or as indicated by the tach. Is he pulsing something at 6 pulses per revolution? That's the only way to get 120 Hz out of 1200 RPM.
Garbage in, garbage out. I see nothing of note in that video except bad measurements and poor explanations. It's a nice looking build though.

Odd, this video clip runs about 2 seconds on this borrowed library computer, and then the YouTube software gives an error message on the clip screen with a black background that an 'Error' has actually occurred.
And you guys implied with your posted Replies that you see more than a couple of seconds? Is this a recent development with the video clip itself? Censorship? After the fact of the original posting?? As I said,
"Censorship?"Comments?

LATER REEDIT: I see now, it's this particular computer. It kills every YouTube video I try to look at and it does it the same way every time. I'll have to try another computer.
