noise fix? put tubing inside the coil ...
edit: oops, looks like the 'train' needs to touch the bare copper coi.
i think the credit should go to AMAZING SCIENCE (not TA in the title of the thread):

just an fyi ...
What, TA is now reposting other people's videos without giving any credit or hint, except the last few frames that give the original poster's website? Why am I not surprised by that? (I know why.)
Why doesn't the "train" spin along its long axis while travelling inside the copper coil? (I know why.)

That's right. It's a linear homopolar motor or spiral railgun variant, once again confirming the Biot-Savart force law.

This looks to be using Two of the basic experiments I've shared more than 5 years ago.
First, one copper wire with DC current is fasten to a Neo magnet and another wire is used to make contact to magnet (on correct pole) will make an on off oscillating switch due to the magnetic field created around the wire when it first contacts the magnet will momentary repel the wire causing repeating on off oscillation switch.
Second, a coil place between two opposing magnets will cause a linear movement to the coil or in this case the magnets will move in the coil.
I think it's really only using the second effect, which is the Mostly Magnet Motor principal.
It's interesting to see it this way.
Thanks for sharing it Chet

Absolutely Amazing Genius Creativity.
How about connecting a Voltmeter to the 2 ends of the Coil
to see how much voltage is being generated during operation.

Why not build one for yourself and see? Surely you have three dollars to spend, and a DMM to connect.
I think gotoluc has explained it very well. I can't quite figure out, though, whether there will be a measurable voltage between the ends of the coil or not. The magnets/battery combo are producing current that is going through the small portion of the coil that it is in contact with at any given time, and this current through that bit of coil is producing the field which then moves the magnets, and the battery along with them just as Luc has explained. The moving magnets will generate an EMF in the coil as well but I don't know if this can be detected at the far ends of the rest of the coil or not.
I don't have any bare copper wire, nor do I have three dollars to spare, so someone else is going to have to do the experiment and report the result.
The title of the thread should be changed, though, to something like "TA's Plagiarized $3.00 magnet-battery copper-coil "train"" though, since it's not his video or idea, he just reposted someone else's video on his channel without giving credit to the originator.
Koala,
If you scrutinise the last seconds there's a footnote with something on it.

That's right, and that also appears on the originator's original posting of the video. TA plagiarized the whole thing. Considering the demonstrated attention span of the party concerned, I am doubtful that he even watched it to that point, he just copied it and reposted it whole.
If you scrutinize the "Description" of the video you'll see no disclaimer from TA that this is not his work, nor will you find an actual link to the originator's original video or any of the other excellent demonstrations from that person.
Sometimes I incorporate references to the works of others into my own work. I am always careful to point this out in my Descriptions, giving links where possible, and/or in the videos themselves. I don't want to give anyone the impression, by omitting these references and credits, that something someone else did is completely my own work. But as you can see from the title of this very thread, things just don't work that way for our dear TA. The idle rich are, after all, entitled to do just as they please.

My guess is, there is only voltage in the part of the coil between the magnets. The Nickle plated magnets are acting like brushes transferring the batteries + and - current while rubbing on the bare copper wire. The rest of the effect is well demonstrated in my Topic.
There is no OU potential in this setup as Lens is at play. A larger version won't help either as I have demonstrated with my Triple M Super Build.
However, it is a fun thing to watch I must say.
